Privacy Policy

Tuned collects the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• Birthday (MMDD format only — no birth year)
• Display name (optional, user-provided)
• Energy style selection
• Signal pattern selection

For quick pair checks, no data is stored on our servers. All information is encoded in the URL and processed client-side.

When you create or join a Room, the following data is stored in our database:

• Room ID, title, and creation date
• PIN (stored as a one-way SHA-256 hash)
• Participant profiles (display name, birthday MMDD, energy style, signal pattern)
• Computed compatibility results

All Room data is automatically deleted 30 days after creation. There is no way to recover data after deletion. See our data retention policy for more details.

• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Location data
• Birth year or full date of birth
• Payment information
• Device identifiers or fingerprints

Tuned does not set first-party cookies for analytics or user tracking. However, third-party services integrated into Tuned may set cookies or use similar technologies:

• Google AdSense — may set cookies for personalized advertising, ad measurement, and audience insights. Google uses technologies such as cookies, device identifiers, and web beacons to serve and measure ads.
• Vercel Analytics — may collect anonymized performance and usage metrics.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the display of third-party advertisements but will not impact the core functionality of Tuned.

Tuned displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support the service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your browsing activity across websites. This may include:

• Serving personalized ads based on your interests
• Measuring ad performance and reach
• Limiting the number of times you see a specific ad

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the following additional provisions apply:

• We process your data based on legitimate interest (providing the service) and, where required, your consent (for advertising cookies and personalized ads).
• You have the right to access, rectify, delete, or port your personal data.
• You have the right to withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time by adjusting your browser cookie settings or using the opt-out links above.
• You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where required by law, Tuned will obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies. We are working toward implementing a Consent Management Platform (CMP) compliant with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) to provide granular consent controls.

Tuned uses the following third-party services:

• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• Supabase — database and real-time features
• Google AdSense — advertising

These services may collect additional data according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies for details.

Pair check data is never stored — it exists only in the URL during your session. Room data is retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted. No backups are kept after deletion. For full details, see our data retention policy.

You can request deletion of any Room data by contacting us. Since pair check data is not stored on our servers, there is nothing to delete for pair-only usage.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of Tuned after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
