All-or-nothing

Full blast or full silence

About this Signal Pattern

All-or-nothing is one of four signal patterns you choose during onboarding. It represents how you naturally distribute your energy in social interactions — your default output rhythm.

Your signal pattern contributes 30% of the resonance scoring between two people, making it the second heaviest input after your birthday. It also influences which frequency archetype you receive.

What this choice says

Choosing All-or-Nothing says something clear: you do not have a medium setting. When you are engaged, you are fully engaged — your whole attention, your best thinking, your maximum investment. When you are not engaged, you are genuinely not there, not just slightly distracted. This is not a character flaw. It is a specific energy architecture that produces intense peaks and real valleys, and understanding it helps both you and the people around you stop expecting something in between.

In relationships

In relationships, All-or-Nothing creates some of the most memorable connections and some of the most confusing ones. People who do not share this pattern sometimes interpret the valleys as rejection or loss of interest. They are neither. The valley is where the All-or-Nothing person recharges for the next peak. The relationship functions best when the other person understands that absence is not abandonment — it is the system resetting. When both people can hold this understanding, the peaks become something to look forward to rather than compensate for.

Pairing dynamics

When two All-or-Nothing patterns meet, the result can be spectacular or chaotic depending on whether the peaks align. Synchronized peaks create explosive energy; misaligned peaks create the sensation of always being in different places. When All-or-Nothing pairs with Late-but-Deep, there is an interesting asymmetry: one person arrives at full blast and the other arrives slowly, so the interaction often starts lopsided before finding its footing — but when it does, the depth that follows is usually worth the wait.

How it affects your results

Two people with the same signal pattern tend to score higher on the wave component of their resonance score. But matching signal patterns alone do not guarantee high compatibility — birthday alignment and energy style interaction matter just as much, if not more.

The signal pattern is the most intuitive input in Tuned: rather than answering a question about yourself, you select an image that feels right. This intuitive selection often captures something that deliberate self-report misses.
