The steady one

Same energy, rain or shine

About this Signal Pattern

The steady one is one of four signal patterns you choose during onboarding. It represents how you naturally distribute your energy in social interactions — your default output rhythm.

Your signal pattern contributes 30% of the resonance scoring between two people, making it the second heaviest input after your birthday. It also influences which frequency archetype you receive.

What this choice says

Choosing The Steady One signals something specific about how you prefer to show up. You do not calibrate your output based on the audience or the occasion — you bring the same energy to a tense meeting that you bring to a relaxed dinner. This consistency is a deliberate choice for some people and an unconscious default for others, but the behavioral result is the same: people around you learn to trust the signal because it does not fluctuate.

In relationships

In relationships, The Steady One pattern creates a foundation that others rely on without always acknowledging. You do not have hot-and-cold cycles. You do not become a different person when stressed or excited. This makes you easy to read and, for most people, comfortable to be around. The challenge is that reliability can become invisible over time — the people who depend on your consistency are often the last to notice when it costs you something to maintain.

Pairing dynamics

When two Steady Ones connect, the relationship is stable to the point of needing deliberate injection of novelty. When Steady One pairs with All-or-Nothing, one person provides the ground while the other provides the surge — a common dynamic that can be energizing or exhausting depending on whether both people understand what is happening. When Steady One pairs with Burst-then-Gone, the relationship has natural rhythm: intervals of high activity followed by recovery, with the Steady One holding the continuity between bursts.

How it affects your results

Two people with the same signal pattern tend to score higher on the wave component of their resonance score. But matching signal patterns alone do not guarantee high compatibility — birthday alignment and energy style interaction matter just as much, if not more.

The signal pattern is the most intuitive input in Tuned: rather than answering a question about yourself, you select an image that feels right. This intuitive selection often captures something that deliberate self-report misses.
